Research Projects
Funded and ongoing research initiatives at SSRG, bridging theoretical signal processing formulations with experimental hardware testbeds and industrial applications.
Signal Processing for Ground Penetrating Radar
Research into advanced signal processing algorithms for ground penetrating radar (GPR) systems, targeting subsurface object detection and characterisation. The project covers migration algorithms, clutter suppression, and feature extraction for buried object classification.
Passive WiFi Radar
Development of a passive radar system that exploits ambient WiFi signals as illuminators of opportunity for target detection and tracking. The project investigates cross-correlation-based range-Doppler processing, clutter cancellation, and passive coherent location techniques using commercial off-the-shelf WiFi hardware.
Through-the-Wall Imaging Radar
Investigation of radar imaging techniques for detecting and localising targets behind walls and other opaque barriers. The project addresses wall clutter mitigation, multipath exploitation, and reconstruction of behind-wall scenes using synthetic aperture and compressive sensing approaches.
